Book Week 2019 was a resounding success at ISM Rosinka. Kicking off the festivities, students celebrated their favourite books by designing and constructing t-shirt book reviews which highlighted both their creative ideas and the wide-range of literature enjoyed by the students of ISM.

It has been another fantastic month full of sportsmanship at ISM Rosinka. From traditional sports, to dodgeball tournaments to outdoor education to kayaking, ISM has it all!

Empowering our students to be world-changers is something central to every Nord Anglia Education school. We encourage our students to share their thoughts on pressing global issues and to be ambitious about their role in making our world a better place through global-mindedness and active leadership.

On Friday the 8th of February, seventeen students from Year One to Year Six competed in the annual ‘ISM’s Got Talent’ event. They sang, danced and played a whole range of instruments in the hope of becoming the 2019 winner.

The afternoon of Thursday 7th February will live long in the memory of those who witnessed Upper Primary’s ‘ISM’s Got Talent’. The audience were treated to a wonderful range of singers, dancers and musicians, displaying their incredible skills.

At ISM, we strive to create a learning experience for all pupils that is enriched with exciting activities both inside and outside of the classroom. This was a great opportunity for the children to enhance their poetry writing skills.

Krylatskaya Lower Campus once again wowed the audience with a fantastic show of talent at our ISM’s Got Talent performance on Wednesday, January 30th.

On Wednesday the 23rd of January, as part of our collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), ISM students participated in a STEAM Day Event. Students had the opportunity to collaborate and participate in exciting workshops and activities in all subjects. These activities increased students’ understanding of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts & Maths) while developing their interdisciplinary learning and practical problem-solving skills.

On Tuesday the 18th of December, St. Andrew’s Church once again hosted the ISM Krylatskoe Upper Campus Christmas Concert. The church was packed to the rafters and festive cheer was augmented with mince pies and other yuletide sustenance.

In Science this term we have been learning a lot about ‘Healthy Me’, ‘Material Monsters’ and in the past week, ‘The Science of Cars’.

With Christmas just around the corner, it was time for our annual Swimming Showcase events. Each event began with a short lesson to give parents a glimpse of coaching techniques and training.

Christmas is coming, bringing festive joy to all. However, it is also a time for us to help people less fortunate than ourselves . Learn more about ISM’s ‘Giving Tree’ charity campaign.

On the 8th of December, Deutsche Schule Moskau hosted the 8th MISAS Basketball Tournament and ISM was invited to compete against other international schools. As always, the competition was fierce……..

Celebrating cultural diversity is an area the Year One children have learned a lot about in the months of November and December through the Integrated Curriculum topic ‘Golden Celebrations’.

Four houses competing against each other, but there could be only only one winner. The will for victory was tangible on the afternoon of the Inter-House Basketball Tournament.

A story filled with magic has recently visited Rosinka. Join Matilda on her journey through her challenges of life and constant struggle with the ever-menacing Miss Trunchbull. Worry not though, Matilda has a secret that will help her prevail. This secret is magically revealed by our talented Year 5 and 6 students.

Tuesday the 4th and Wednesday the 5th of December were the dates for ISM’s annual production at The Rublevo Theatre. This year, it was the heartwarming, Christmas-relevant, Broadway record breaker ‘Annie’. Deemed to be one of the biggest events on the school calendar, it was important that the cast and crew delivered in an ambitious fashion.

Educators are leaving traditional practices behind in favour of a tailored, more personalised approach for each student that gives them greater control over their own learning.
