On Saturday, 25 April over 45 students, staff and family from the OIC community sat down in their various corners of the world with a book.
The goal was simple: to read as many pages as possible and to turn that effort into funds raised for local charity
Be Free YC.
Be Free YC is an Oxfordshire based charity which supports young careers aged 8-24. OIC knew that in these difficult times we now, more than ever, need to come together as a community to help where they can and so set about arranging a read-a-thon with the goal of getting books to these young careers, because:
“Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are”(Mason Cooley)Everyone got involved, students, staff, parents, friends and family and the result was this – as a community we read nearly 10,000 pages and
raised over £1,000 for this amazing charity.
We are so grateful for the commitment of our reader, generosity of our sponsors and support from our community.
So from the OIC community – to the Oxfordshire community, thank you!
