Machine Learning Course out of date now
This week Year 12 Visual Arts students have completed their object studies, producing a range of beautiful artworks.
Year 12 Visual Arts students at St Andrews International School Bangkok have recently finished their object study assignment. The purpose of this assignment was to carry out a sustained visual investigation of an object of their choice. Students analysed and experimented the visual possibilities of a myriad of objects ranging from a pair of scissors to a shuttlecock. They put a lot of effort into it and were able to improve their drawing skills, develop their investigation skills, make visual connections, practice both critical and visual inquiry and link investigation to studio work by gaining a better understanding of the impact of the investigation on their studio work.
Here are a few examples of the outcome of several weeks of investigation, which show a great sense of creativity and a variety of visual approaches. For some students this was their first large painting while others had the opportunity to improve and refine their drawing/painting skills. Although they probably need a break from looking at their object, they can be proud of their work and take what their learned to their next art challenge. (Artwork by Serena, Nann, Beauty, Poon, Par, Paola, Illy, Gaya and Best).
The first ‘Artist of the Week’ for 2019 is Pun in 12Sk, whose object study depicts a young woman wearing headphones. The vivid colour and dynamic use of line and pattern suggest the rhythmic pulse of music.
