Since qualifying in the United Kingdom as a Science teacher in 2002, I have enjoyed working in international education for nearly 12 years, in regions which include the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. More recently I was able to return to Europe and work in Spain where my husband and I have bought a little 'cortijo' which we are reforming for our future retirement.
During my time in international teaching, I have been privileged to lead Science departments and teach Science to students from a spectrum of backgrounds; from Qatari royalty through to students from Malay working families. However, irrespective of family or cultural background, I believe that all young people can be inspired to love learning Science. My passion is to relay this enthusiasm to my students here at ISM. To achieve this, one must engage in a personalised approach to teaching and learning, in order to attain academic excellence and produce life-long learners who are equipped to contribute to life in an ever-increasing global community.
When I am relaxing, I love to be creative with my knitting and crochet, pottering in my garden and reading murder mysteries. I am looking forward to this fresh adventure in Moscow; making new international friends and sharing my love of learning with my students.
