Ms. McKenzie has worked for more than 10 years in education, having taught in kindergarten, elementary and middle school. In addition to her ELA and EAL experience, in the past she had a successful newspaper journalist career and worked as a city planner.
Ms. McKenzie holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Edward R. Murrow School of Communications (Washington State University) and two Master's degrees in Urban and Regional Planning as well as Public Administration from Eastern Washington University.
