Our international Primary curriculum at NAS Jakarta
Our tailored Primary programme builds every child’s love for learning. Thanks to our small class sizes, our passionate teachers will challenge and support your child throughout their growth, in ways that recognise what makes them special. And because we know every child is naturally curious, we gently encourage them to push their own boundaries to help them stretch comfortably and confidently.
Our students’ success comes from a carefully designed curriculum structure. We use a blend of the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), so learning is rigorous, current, and globally focused. While we teach traditional subjects from the English National Curriculum, we use the IPC in thematic ways that allow students to connect the dots in their learning to the world around them.
This unique combination not only covers English and maths, but it also draws lines across science, geography, history, ICT, art, music, technology, society, and physical education.
From the beginning of each child’s educational journey with us to the end, we foster a warm, encouraging culture that sets engaging goals, measures exciting progress, and celebrates inspiring success. Through it all, our students strengthen a huge variety of their skills, such as analysing, reflecting, and leading with confidence. And they also develop a fluency in technology that allows them to explore new areas and enhance their learning.
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC)
At NAS Jakarta, we stand out as the first school in the nation to have adopted the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) – paving the way for world-class, primary education in Indonesia. Its cross-curricular, thematic structure helps immerse children in learning that’s current and connected to the world, so every day in the classroom is vibrant, engaging and exciting.

Specialist programmes
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Guided by world-class specialist teachers, our English as an Additional Language programme helps students new to English or still developing their English, boost their skills. This daily programme allows our students to build their confidence using English across all areas of learning.
Indonesian language and culture
Students feel empowered to build their Indonesian skills through our Bahasa Indonesia language and cultural programme. Both local and international students may choose to participate in the programme, taught daily by our outstanding expert teachers.
Dutch language
Our students can take daily Dutch lessons through our Dutch language and culture programme, taught by dedicated teachers. We follow the Dutch Primary Core Goals (Kerndoelen Primair Onderwijs), which offers students the choice to sit the national CITO tests.
Learning support
If your child needs a little more support, we’ll work with them through a structured Individual Learning Plan designed to target key development areas. Our teachers work closely with children and their families to guide each child to make the best progress possible.
