Students take on three key areas of study: IB subjects; a core group (that includes personal and professional skills, service learning, a reflective project, and language development); and BTEC Business, or pre-professional studies.
An Education Programme Tailored to Your Professional Aspirations
The IBCP provides our students with the best preparation for their intended career path. Your child will design their own curriculum and explore the world of business decision-making. They will conduct in-depth research; plan a marketing campaign; prepare and deliver reports and presentations; and manage events centred around their business goals. Immersing into their quest for excellence with guidance from our specialist International Baccalaureate educators, every student will emerge from this programme with confidence, ready for further or higher education, apprenticeships and employment.

International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) Explained
Study focus is balanced across three key areas:
1. International Baccalaureate (IB) Subject Choices
Students select 2-3 Subjects at Standard Level (SL) or Higher Level (HL). They may take subject-specific IB exams at the end of high school. Universities may award college credits based on the exam outcomes.
2. The Career-related Programme (CP) Core
Personal and Professional Skills
In this course, the emphasis is on skill development for the workplace, as these are transferable and can be applied in a wide range of situations. Students will learn things such as writing formal emails to find sponsors; acquiring new skills in Photoshop for banner development, practising presentation skills to request funding from the PTG; and more.
Reflective Project
An in-depth body of work, produced over an extended period of time, intended to promote high-level research, writing and extensive communication skills. Through the reflective project, students identify, analyse, critically discuss, and evaluate an ethical issue directly linked to their career-related study. This is an assessed component, and a requirement to achieve the CP Certificate
Language Development
Language development encourages students to improve their proficiency in a language other than their native tongue. Students may choose:
-
A language useful in a career-related context;
-
A heritage language;
-
A language of another culture; or
-
The language of the host country while living overseas.
Service Learning
With a research-based approach, students undertake service initiatives related to topics studied previously in their academic disciplines, utilising their skills, understandings, and values developed in these studies. They will learn to organise and manage events, such as a Christmas party for children in the local community.
3. Career-Related Studies (CRS)
