Technology at BCB always aims at working towards driving the cyber world to create a better future and discovering the silicon world of bits and bytes! This term our children are on the path of showcasing a wonderful aptitude towards programming codes to make different applications. Taking over from Robotics in the last term, designing and creating their own website through templates and codes is what our students are having up their sleeve and enjoying it to the fullest.
ICT is an umbrella for different disciplines and it isn’t about technology alone, it’s about learning, and it’s about encouraging the effective use of ICT within education and implementing inter disciplinary approach in other subjects as well. Our students have been learning to develop their logical skills to create geometric designs and patters by writing their own codes and programs.
Learning about networks opened a different domain of acquiring knowledge for our junior programmers. Discovering the Command Line Interface commands was a total thrill and a learning curve for understanding the concepts of web security and ethics of Internet used as best practices followed across the globe.
Our Year 10’s and 11’s have been busy this term with formulas’ and functions used in a spreadsheet package and office automation systems, which would definitely make things easier for them in their professional front.
Thinking out of the box is the source of computing and our young learners strive to work towards it to achieve their goals. Information technology is all about storing, manipulating, distributing and processing information. In addition to the increased output and efficiency, ICT will also introduce new concepts such as e-commerce for our students.
Needless to say exploring more on the topic of Artificial Intelligence is the point of discussion for year 7’s even during break times! It is a wonder to see the enthusiasm of this young generation to take the Fifth generation of computers further to create a better tomorrow.
