BCB Weekly Newsletter (20th of August 2021) There is only one major thing to celebrate this week, your children. It has been fantastic to see how well they have returned to school and settled into a full capacity environment.

Dear Parents,

There is only one major thing to celebrate this week, your children. It has been fantastic to see how well they have returned to school and settled into a full capacity environment. Before opening we were proud of our staff preparing the building and classrooms, but it is only when we fill up with children that it becomes a school.

In the first few days there were of course a few tears from some of our younger students, but day by day they got used to their surroundings and started to enjoy all the great learning and friendships that they experienced this week. For others, they came confidently through the gate and were delighted to see their teachers, old and new, and most importantly to them, their friends. It is these personal relationships and contacts that we missed during lower capacity attendance and now enjoy so much. We must remember all our safety protocols and social responsibilities, at home and in school, to maintain this momentum of being in school for presential learning.

Over the coming weeks you will receive more information about Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs), upcoming coffee mornings, be introduced to the PTA and learn how to be part of this, and of course all the information you need to continue building our partnerships.

We would like to remind you about wearing your parent identification when collecting your children from school. These not only make you identifiable, but our staff can also easily read your names to assist in the efficiency of car collection. Please do contact andrea.silva@britishcollegebrazil should you need any help with this.

I want to thank all the parents of Year 7 and new secondary students to the school, who are patiently waiting for their laptops. Over the last two days most of my time was spent in the IT office configuring the new laptops so they will be ready next week, hopefully by the middle of it. One of our IT staff has now returned and is setting up the accounts and then we will input these assets into our Nord Anglia system and then we will be ready to issue them. I’m sure this will make things easier for everyone.

Finally, thank you for all your support, last year and at the start of this one. It is extremely positive, and we can all celebrate our return to school.

Have a fantastic weekend.
