THE HOUSE SYSTEM

The House system has two parts:

  • A system where students gain House points for individual awards relating to their progress and efforts in all aspects of school life.
  • Inter-house competitions such as sports days, swimming galas, and poetry and music competitions.

The whole school is involved in the system and each teacher and assistant teacher belongs to a House. There are regular House assemblies throughout the year, and at the first meeting, each House elects their house captains.

HOUSE POINTS AND AWARD CERTIFICATES

At BCB, we reward and recognise great efforts with House points, designed to encourage high standards and positive actions from all our students throughout the year. House points are only awarded when students do their very best.

During the year, our teachers award House points for excellent work, effort, progress, and good citizenship. Student then enter their House points on the chart displayed in the class. There are no negative actions, such as minus house points. We award certificates in an  assembly to successful students.
