Weekly Newsletter (4th of September) Dear Parents, Our British College Brazil core purpose is, ‘To create engaging and personalised learning and empower each student to achieve more than they ever thought possible by providing the best of both worlds: a global community with the best of British standards and the pride in nurturing the future leaders of Brazil to reach new heights.’

Dear Parents,

Our British College Brazil core purpose is, ‘To create engaging and personalised learning and empower each student to achieve more than they ever thought possible by providing the best of both worlds: a global community with the best of British standards and the pride in nurturing the future leaders of Brazil to reach new heights.’

This was extremely visible this week in the secondary school as they held elections for key leadership posts within the school. Hustings took place for the School Council and Captain and Vice-Captain for each house. I was extremely impressed by the vocabulary each candidate was using to gain votes from their peers and teachers. You can see the vocabulary in the word cloud I made from their choices below and I am sure you would agree these would be the words used from any leadership training program you may attend or any book you might read on leadership.

Our students are in such a safe environment that they can take risks and try something they may not have done before. Some of the candidates had experience but others were trying this for the first time. Our core purpose is evident from these children, your children, and everyone involved should be extremely proud. To hear young adults talking about academic rhythm, confidence, motivation and growth, just goes to prove the environment these children are learning in, and growing up in. They will certainly achieve more than they ever thought possible I am sure.

Thank you to the Secondary Leadership Team who instigate these opportunities and Miss Boon who encouraged and drew the passion from the students aiming to lead their House. If your child was successful or not, they should be highly commended and congratulated for their attempts to stand up and put themselves forward. This is already leadership.

Enjoy the long weekend and have a great Independence Day on Monday. Online learning will resume on Tuesday 8 th September.

Warm regards,

Principal Nick West
